These General Rental Terms and Conditions (GRTC) define the conditions under which E BIKE BASSIN offers the rental of electric bicycles and electric scooters.
Any reservation, signature, or handover of equipment implies full and unconditional acceptance of these terms, without reservation.
3. RENTAL CONDITIONS – AGE & USE
Minimum required age:
– Electric bicycle: minimum 16 years old
– Electric scooter: minimum 18 years old
A valid identification document may be required at the time of equipment handover.
The renter declares being physically fit to use the rented equipment and agrees to use it in a careful, responsible manner and in compliance with the Highway Code and applicable regulations.
The lessor reserves the right to refuse the handover of the equipment in case of non-compliance with these conditions, with no refund possible.
4. DELIVERY AND COLLECTION
Delivery and collection of the equipment are provided exclusively between Arcachon and Biganos, according to the terms defined at the time of booking.
In the event of the renter’s absence at the agreed place and time, the rental remains due and travel fees may be applied.
No refund may be claimed for delays attributable to the renter.
5. RENTAL DURATION
The rental begins at the effective handover of the equipment and ends upon its full return (vehicle, battery, charger, lock, and accessories).
Any unreported and unapproved delay will automatically result in the billing of an additional rental day per 24-hour period started.
6. PRICES AND PAYMENT
Prices are expressed in euros, all taxes included.
Full payment of the rental is required before the handover of the equipment.
No equipment will be handed over without validated payment.
7. SECURITY DEPOSIT (BANK PRE-AUTHORIZATION)
A security deposit by bank card pre-authorization is mandatory before any handover of equipment.
This deposit is not charged at the start of the rental.
Deposit amounts:
– Electric bicycle: €800
– Cargo bike: €1,200
– Electric scooter: €400
The deposit may be partially or fully charged in the event of:
– theft of the equipment,
– damage,
– improper use,
– loss or non-return of accessories (battery, charger, lock),
– non-compliance with these terms.
If the deposit amount is insufficient, the renter agrees to pay the remaining balance upon simple request from the lessor.
8. LOCK – PARKING – THEFT PREVENTION
A lock is provided with each vehicle. Its use is mandatory at every stop, even for short periods.
The vehicle must be secured by the frame to a fixed, solid object attached to the ground, exclusively using the lock provided by E BIKE BASSIN.
The renter is requested to avoid prolonged parking in unsupervised or high-risk areas.
At night, the equipment must be parked in a closed, secure location out of sight (garage, private premises, secured residence).
9. THEFT OF EQUIPMENT
In the event of theft, the renter agrees to:
– immediately inform E BIKE BASSIN,
– file a police report within a maximum of 24 hours,
– provide a copy of the police report.
The deposit will be charged as of right, independently of any actions taken with the authorities.
If the value of the equipment exceeds the deposit amount, the renter agrees to pay the remaining balance.
No refund may be claimed in the event of later recovery of the equipment, unless otherwise agreed in writing by E BIKE BASSIN.
10. CONDITION OF EQUIPMENT – RETURN
The equipment is handed over clean, in good working condition, and compliant with regulations.
Any damage beyond normal wear and tear may result in invoicing or a deduction from the deposit.
The equipment must be returned clean.
A flat cleaning fee of €15 per vehicle may be applied in the event of abnormally dirty return.
11. LIABILITY & SAFETY
The renter is fully responsible for the equipment throughout the rental period.
Wearing a helmet is strongly recommended for electric bicycles and mandatory for electric scooters.
The renter is solely responsible for any violations, fines, bodily injury, or material damage caused to third parties during the rental period.
12. INSURANCE & ACCIDENT
The rented equipment is covered by civil liability insurance limited to damage caused to third parties.
Bodily injuries to the rider, falls, accidents, and personal belongings are not covered.
It is the renter’s responsibility to ensure they have personal civil liability insurance covering the use of an electric bicycle or electric scooter.
13. APPLICABLE LAW – DISPUTES
These terms are governed by French law.
In the event of a dispute not resolved amicably, the Commercial Court of Bordeaux shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
14. ACCEPTANCE
